Adam J. Sorkin’s collaborative translations of Romanian poets have appeared
widely, most recently in
American Poetry Review, The New Yorker, and
Tampa Review.
Sorkin received his PhD in English literature in 1972 from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, served as a senior Fulbright lecturer
in American literature at Bucharest University’s Department of English in 1980,
and has received numerous postdoctoral awards, including a Rockefeller Foundation
Residency at the Bellagio Center in Italy. He has published scholarly essays in a
variety of periodicals and translations of Romanian poetry in over one hundred US
magazines and journals.
