She studied art from early childhood and entered Cornell as a fine art major. When she graduated, her focus shifted to design. Michelle detoured through a career in architectural and interior design, mostly abroad. She returned to the states and obtained a second degree from The Academy of Art in San Francisco before beginning her illustration career in NYC.
